Recycle PLA

Recommended Posts

I put it in my city general plastic recycling bin. The city specifies rigid plastics can go there, and other PLA products like milk cartons can be recycled, so I think it is fine. PLA is also biodegradable, so I guess in theory it could also go into biowaste. Check with your local ordinances and rules.

Recycle PLA filament:

1·Reuse in printing: Grind waste into pellets for re-extrusion of filament. Mix with fresh PLA to improve quality.
2·Industrial composting: PLA can be composted at high temperatures for inspection by local facilities.
3·DIY projects: Turn waste into coasters or small objects, or use as filler for artwork.
4·Recycling programs: Some companies and makerspaces accept PLA waste recycling.
5·School donations: Art projects and schools often use PLA scrap in their projects.
Keep it environmentally friendly and separate PLA from other plastics!
