Daniel Hanover
I tried this (https://discourse.slicer.org/t/converting-stl-to-nrrd/3726) but it yielded a 2D NRRD file. Not sure where to go from here. I want to use Seg3D to add color to a 3D mesh of teeth and gums. All help greatly appreciated! Dr. Mike
Try this tutorial. Creating the nrrd is pretty simple and takes about a minute. If you are trying to create a bone model from a CT scan, try democratized -- embodi3D's cloud service for automatic conversion. If you want to do other things, we have a variety of free tutorials online. Good luck!
Terrie S
@Daniel Hanover If you just want to "paint" your 3D mesh, you do not have to convert it to a segmentation unless you want to segment other parts out. You can use Meshlab to assign a color per vertex and even paint parts with the paintbrush tool then export as PLY with color.
