    • The application of 3D printing technology in the biomedical field is developing rapidly, bringing revolutionary breakthroughs to bioprinting. Recently, scientists have made remarkable progress in the use of 3D printing technology to manufacture biological materials, tissues and organs, which not only promotes the advancement of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, but also provides new solutions for drug testing and personalized medicine. Scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory have developed a new method for 3D printing organisms that "capture" bacteria in 3D structures by using a light-sensitive bioresin and LED light. This technique can print microbial structures at high resolution, similar to microbial communities in nature. Studies have shown that this method has great potential in uranium biosensing and rare earth metal recovery. Researchers at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute focused on developing methods to 3D print living skin and successfully equip it with blood vessels. This technique enables the creation of skin grafts that are highly compatible with human skin tissue, which is expected to significantly improve the effectiveness of medical transplantation. 3D bioprinted skin not only speeds up wound healing, but also enables true integration with host cells. Meanwhile, Advanced Solutions Life Sciences, in collaboration with the University of Louisville, is working on fdm 3d printer heart tissue, specifically the construction of capillary beds. Their goal is to print heart modules that can be tested for drugs, and eventually even create a fully functioning human heart. This development heralds the widespread application of bioprinting technology in future medicine. Behind these breakthroughs is an ongoing effort to develop bio-inks. Bioinks are a key material for 3D bioprinting and need to balance printability, biocompatibility and mechanical properties. Researchers are working to develop new types of bio-inks to mimic the microenvironment in vivo and enable more complex biological functions. 3D printing technology has broad application prospects in bioprinting field. With the continuous progress of technology, we have reason to believe that 3D bioprinting will bring more breakthroughs in the medical field in the future and make greater contributions to the development of human health.
    • I find it an interesting and challenging project to use an FDM printer to make anime models, and last week I made Hayao Miyazaki's Totoro model with a printing mechanism, which I particularly enjoyed. I want to share this project with you. Here are my steps to make it. First, preparation is crucial. Before you get started, you need an FDM 3D printer, such as the Don Gixing rose go or Flash Cast FDM 3D printer, which has a good track record in terms of accuracy and stability. In addition, you will need the appropriate 3D modeling software, such as Autodesk Maya or Blender, to design or modify your anime model. Once you have these tools ready, you can start making them. The first step is to design or get the model file. If you have a foundation in 3D modeling, you can design your own model. Otherwise, ready-made model files can be downloaded from the Internet. Make sure the model file meets your printer requirements to avoid possible problems later on. Next is the model slicing process. Import the model file into slicing software, such as Cura or Simplify3D, for slicing. This step is to convert the 3D model into instructions that the printer can understand, and the slicing software generates a series of layered two-dimensional slicing diagrams. In the slicing process, it is necessary to set the printing parameters, such as height, filling density, printing speed, etc., which will directly affect the quality of the final model. After finishing the slicing process, you can start printing. Before sending the model to the printer, make sure that the printer is already in good condition, with sufficient supplies and platform level. After printing is started, the printer stacks the material layer by layer according to the instructions generated by the slicing software, and finally forms a complete model. During the printing process, it is recommended to check the working status of the printer from time to time to prevent accidents. After printing is complete, the model needs to be post-processed. The first is to remove the supporting material. During the printing process, in order to support some of the hanging parts of the model, the printer generates some additional support structures, which need to be carefully removed after the printing is complete. Then the surface of the model is polished. Use sandpaper from coarse to fine to eliminate print marks and make the surface of the model smoother. The final step is coloring. Coloring is a very important part of model making, it can make your model more vivid and realistic. You can choose to use spray paint or hand paint. During the coloring process, be sure to take protective measures, such as wearing a gas mask and using a negative pressure system to discharge dust. In addition, the model can also be repaired in detail with soil to make the model more perfect. Through the above steps, you can use FDM printing mechanism to make beautiful animation models. Although the process is complicated, the sense of achievement when you see the model you have made by yourself is unparalleled. We hope that every model enthusiast can enjoy the process of making it and create more amazing works. I hope these steps were helpful, but if you need to know more, you can refer to more related materials.
    • The other day I took my daughter to have her teeth orthodontic, and I found that with the continuous progress of technology, 3D printing technology is more and more widely used in the medical field, especially in the dental field. So I conducted an in-depth study in this area. FDM (Fused Deposition Molding) 3D printing technology is changing the traditional dental treatment and manufacturing process with its efficient, precise and personalized characteristics. One of the applications of FDM 3D printing technology in dentistry is to make crowns and Bridges. The traditional process of making the crown and bridge is complicated, which requires multiple molds and adjustments, which takes a long time. With FDM 3D printing, doctors can first digitally scan a patient's mouth and then use that data to quickly generate an accurate digital model. The 3D printer then stacks the material layer by layer to create a crown and bridge that perfectly matches the patient's mouth. This method not only improves the production accuracy, but also greatly reduces the treatment time. Another application is to create personalized dentures. The production of traditional dentures usually requires hand carving and multiple tries, which is a complicated and inefficient process. Using FDM 3D printing technology, doctors can design and print dentures that fully meet the requirements of patients according to their oral structure and needs. This personalized manufacturing not only improves the comfort of dentures, but also reduces the number of visits and enhances the overall patient experience. Applications of FDM 3D printer technology in dentistry also include the production of surgical guides and orthodontics. The surgical guide can help doctors accurately control the position and orientation of the implant during the implantation surgery, reduce the surgical risk and shorten the treatment time. Orthodontics can be customized according to each patient's tooth condition to achieve accurate correction. With the continuous development of materials science and 3D printing technology, the application of FDM 3D printing in dentistry will be more extensive. From personalized dental restorations to complex surgical guides, 3D printing technology is driving dental medicine to a more efficient, accurate and personalized direction. In the future, we can expect more innovative applications to bring better oral health and treatment experiences to patients.
    • In the 3D printing process, the temperature setting of the extruder plays a crucial role in the print quality and the performance of the final product. The correct temperature setting ensures optimal material fluidity, adhesion, and bond strength between layers. Here is my summary of a series of steps and considerations on how to check the temperature Settings of 3D printer extruders. First, you need to ensure that the 3D printer firmware is correctly configured. Marlin Firmware is a widely used open source 3D printer firmware that makes it easy to set and control the temperature of the extruder. After downloading the Marlin firmware to the control board (such as Mega2560), you can use software such as Printrun to connect and control the printer. Secondly, the function of the extruder heating rod is checked by the Printrun software. Select the correct serial port number and baud rate in the software, after connecting the control board, select the "Heat" option and set the target temperature (such as 185 degrees for PLA filament or 230 degrees for ABS filament). Observe whether the current temperature of the heating rod (Ex0) gradually rises to the Target temperature (Ex0 target). If the temperature curve does not rise, check whether the connection between the heating rod and the temperature sensor (NTC) is normal, and measure its resistance with a multimeter if necessary. In the temperature setting process, it is necessary to fine-tune according to the actual type of material used and the reference temperature provided by the supplier. For example, if you are printing with a new material, you can start with the recommended temperature and then gradually adjust it according to the printing effect. Usually, if the temperature is too high, the material drawing phenomenon will occur, and the temperature should be gradually reduced (such as reducing 5 degrees each time); On the contrary, if the temperature is too low, it may lead to poor lamination or insufficient strength of the print, and it is necessary to gradually increase the temperature. Finally, it is recommended to use professional temperature monitoring equipment, such as the FOTRIC thermal camera, to monitor the temperature of the extruder and nozzle in real time. This device can provide accurate temperature distribution information to help users adjust temperature Settings more accurately, improve print quality and product performance. Through the above steps, the extruder temperature Settings of the 3D printer can be effectively checked and adjusted to ensure the smooth progress of the printing process and the quality of the final product.
