Dr. Mike
The forums are becoming more active. Great to see the community growing. Does anybody have new forum sections or top-level divisions they would like to see? I want to make sure we have places to discuss all topics related to biomedical 3D printing. mplishka
What about having DICOMs available that have been stripped of personal identifiers?
Dr. Mike
That is a good suggestion. Totally de-identifying DICOMs can be a bit tricky. There are a lot headers where identifiable patient information can be hidden. I have heard that even using anonymization features of some PACS software packages can still leave some patient information there. Any ideas for how can we share DICOM datasets while ensuring that they are truly anonymized? That being said, Osirix has a library of downloadable DICOM image sets that can be very useful if you are into 3D printing anatomical models. mplishka
Thanks for the Osirix link, I'll check into it. I seem to recall a low cost 'stripping' program that supposedly was better than anything else out there. I remember them from RSNA too. I'll need to revisit my 'stuff' bag and look at my links. When/If I make it I'll let you know. Thanks again for the link!
