Removing Artifacts/Scatters in Dental Area

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm a Student from Germany :). Since I see, that embodi3d makes it possible to print 3D objects out of dicoms, I want to ask you, whether you have some advice or hints, how to solve my problem.

I have an DVT - scan of an jaw and in the area of the teeth there are scatters/ artifacts, which I don't know how to remove.

Thankful for any hints/help.

If you already have artifact in your scan you will have to manually remove it. If you have to opportunity to re-scan, you can use metal reduction techniques on a dual-source CT scanner to minimize the artifact. Sorry, but metal artifact is a real problem and there is no easy way to get rid of it.
