Failed Fusion. Posterior Transverse process fusion non-union.
By Johann
Very outdated procedure performed, with inferior execution.
Posterior Transverse process fusion non-union. (L3-S1)
CT scan shows non-union @L5/S1 and SI joint arthritis.
Consulted 3 spinal surgeons, and not prepared to help me.
Consulted Spinal surgeons are finding excuses not to assist as opposed to find solutions.
Extremely difficult to sit for prolonged periods, cant walk or lay on my back without pain.
A Large, sturdy plastic brace does mitigate to some extent.

Compression fracture and kyphoplasty
By UAH
Model1: The model of the compression fracture at L1 was segmented using 3DSlicer from a MRI scan. The scan was of a 78 year old female, 62 inches tall and 135 pounds. The radiologist report for the compression fracture (12/31/2019) stated: “Acute/sub acute L1 compression fracture with retropulsion. No spinal stenosis. Central compression deformity of the vertebral body with approximately 75% vertebral height loss.”
Model2: The model of the kyphoplasty repair at L1 was segmented using 3DSlicer from a MRI scan. Shortly after the kyphoplasty at L1 the patient had another compression fracture at T12. This fracture was less severe than L1. A kyphoplasty was also performed on T12. As a result a second MRI scan was available to observe the kyphoplasty and the amount of bone cement inserted at L1. The models are full size.
Model3: The model is of only the kyphoplasty repair at L1 and shows the distribution of the bone cement within the vertebrae. The model is only of the L1 vertebrae with the bone cement.
